It’s already the third day of 2016 and the first day of me running this year – so much about good intentions…. Haha. It seems like winter has finally arrived in Germany so I was able to run through a few milimeters of snowmud this morning. Temperatures around freezing point and very slushy rain. But my first kilometers of 2016 felt great.
Last night I finally signed up for the Arosa Snow Walk and Run, an event I wanted to participate in last year already. It’s gonna be a shorter distance this time (12km), but if it continues snowing 12km are enough to start a hopefully successful season.
Not too much planned. I will focus on biking and my personal goal will require me to take out my bike at least four days a week to reach it….
If only I could use my bike right now. When driving home yesterday I had my bike on the rack on top of my car; at one point there was some noise, but I couldn’t see anything. When I took my bike down, the front tire fell down! Somehow, the bolt must had come loose – that was the noise! Luckily it didn’t cause any damage. So first thing on my list tomorrow will be a visit to the bike store – maybe combine it with a run?!
And the next day I’ll be heading to Switzerland for the running event. This time with the train – I’m sick of driving thousand of kilometers each month – so I’ll have to limit what I will bring with me: no skis, no CC skis, only a few pairs of running shoes.
It’s gonna be a fun time! I’m looking forward to it and I’ll let you be part of it!
On a side note; last week my mom and I watched the movie Run Free – The True Story of Caballo Blanco together. If you’ve read Born to Run you’ll be familiar with the content, but it’s beautifully filmed and well worth watching! I (or better we) enjoyed it a lot!
